Description
Caxfila-160 Tablet contains Megestrol Acetate (160 mg per tablet), a synthetic progestogen that acts like the female hormone progesterone. It interferes with the hormones that fuel certain hormone-dependent cancers, which helps slow their progression and relieve symptoms. It is prescribed for the palliative treatment of advanced breast cancer and endometrial (womb) cancer, as decided by the treating oncologist. It is a hormonal therapy, not a chemotherapy medicine. Each pack contains 10 tablets. It is marketed by Adley Formulations.

Directions for Use
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by the oncologist.
It can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
Swallow the tablet with water.
Do not change the dose or stop treatment suddenly without consulting the doctor.
Important Safety Information
Common side effects include weight gain, increased appetite, nausea, hot flashes, breast tenderness, fluid retention, breathlessness and vaginal bleeding or spotting.
It can raise the risk of blood clots, raise blood sugar and, with long use, affect adrenal gland function. Tell the doctor about any leg pain or swelling, chest pain, or sudden breathlessness at once.
Tell the doctor about diabetes, a history of blood clots, heart, liver or kidney disease, and all other medicines and supplements being used.
Contains lactose. Tell the doctor if you have an intolerance to certain sugars.
Not for use in pregnancy. Effective contraception is advised during treatment, as directed by the doctor.
Report any serious side effects (clot symptoms, severe headache, vision changes, severe weakness) to a doctor immediately.
