Description
Admine 400mg Tablet contains Imatinib (as imatinib mesylate, 400 mg per tablet), a targeted anti-cancer medicine from the tyrosine kinase inhibitor group. It blocks the abnormal proteins that drive the growth of certain cancer cells, which slows the spread of the disease. It is prescribed for chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML), Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (Ph+ ALL) and gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST), and for some rarer conditions, as decided by the treating oncologist. Each pack contains 10 tablets. It is marketed by Adley Formulations.

Directions for Use
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by the oncologist.
It is usually taken with a meal and a large glass of water to reduce stomach upset, at about the same time each day.
Swallow the tablet whole. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without consulting the doctor.
Important Safety Information
Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, muscle cramps, swelling around the eyes or legs, fatigue, skin rash and headache.
Regular blood counts, liver tests and weight checks are needed during treatment. Sudden weight gain or swelling should be reported.
It can make skin more sensitive to sunlight, so use a high-SPF sunscreen and protect your skin.
Rarely, it can cause serious problems such as heart failure, liver damage, severe bleeding or serious skin reactions.
Tell the doctor about liver, kidney or heart problems and all other medicines and supplements being used. Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice unless the doctor says otherwise.
Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless the doctor advises otherwise. Effective contraception is advised during treatment.
Report any serious side effects (rapid weight gain, breathlessness, yellow skin or eyes, unusual bleeding, severe rash) to a doctor immediately.
